Visited Froyle last week, and saw Hussey's farm house, where my husband's great uncle and aunt, Joe and Bendita Lowy lived in the 1950s or so, and where Anne Wheeler, my own step-ancestor lived after marriage to Mr Burningham in 1637 - life has strange coincidences. I think that I am somehow related to Thomas Geale of the Almshouses, in Alton, and the Quaker families of Jeffery, Inwood, and Cranstone.

Eventually after many years, I have decided to try and find out about the history of the family and after many hours of searching found this website. What an eye opener. I will watch regularly for updates. Good luck for the future keep up the good work.

My ancestor, Elizabeth Heath of ffroyle born 25th July 1766, daughter of Charles Heath married William Chandler at the Friends Meeting House, Alton on 29th October 1800. I am interested in tracing Elizabeth's ancestors. Her father was Charles Heath. I believe his father was Thomas Heath. If anyone else is tracing the Heath's I would welcome contact.

My grand parents lived in Froyle in the 1930's & probably a long time before that & after.I visited with my parents about 1938.My grand parents had a very large family & I do know that several of the Harris family are buried in the churchyard The only one I can trace on your website is George Harris born 1910 died 1929. I am aged 77 & now live in Bolton Lancs. I do find your website very interesting, thank you.

I have just come across your excellent site. I am researching the Rampton family from Froyle and your site has filled in so many gaps! Not only that, but it has enabled me to see where they lived and worked, as well as building a more complete picture of the community of which they were a part. Anyone wishing to contact me about the Rampton's I'd love to hear from you.

I lived in Froyle from 1964 til 1979 and have enjoyed looking at the web site. Brought back many memories and nice to see my old house amongst the various photos.

I have been dabbling with family history and know that I am a direct descendent of Aquila Clapshaw/Clapshoe who I believe comes from Froyle. My Grandmother was a Clapshaw and was born in Farnham. I would be interested in getting in contact with Brian Head who mentioned he was also a descendant

This is a wonderful website! A brilliant example of what a village CAN do! We had relatives The Messengers, who were Maltsters in the village in 1850s. We are coming to visit soon, and found your whole site inspirational and informative.
