Thanks for our chat on my visit to Froyle. I am looking for information that will help with my search into the Windebank family. Daniel Windebank my great grandfather was born in Froyle around 1854 when he was christened there on February 5th 1854. I believe his father may have been a Henry Windebank married to Sarah. If anyone can assist me to go back further I would be most pleased. Josephine Windebank Turney

My brother George Douglas died suddenly in March. We both grew up in Upper Froyle during the 60's and 70's when we moved down from Northumberland and like me he loved coming back to visit the village whenever he could.

Wow. amazing memories. Lived in Highway Lodge in the early 70s. My dad (Doug) played in goal for the football team and I went to the school that is now a house, as is the the old Prince of Wales where I remember tapping on the window for more pop and crisps!
Thanks for the Memory :)

Thanks for a great website. How wonderful to have St Mary's records online. I am researching my ancestors Stephen Rothwell who married to Mary Hawkins there in april 1752, and was buried there 15 Feb 1795. Their granddaughter married William Winslade in London in 1814 and his daughter Ellen Lester nee Winslade emigrated to Australia via New Zealand in the 1870s. Other relatives are from Holybourne. Hope I can come along to your reunion one day.

I've just recently been corresponding with a relative about our ancestors. I googled Froyle which is where my ancestors came from. What an awesome site you have. I am a descendant from the Croucher Family - George Croucher who immigrated to Canada in 1870 because of the economy. He wrote his autobiography about living in Froyle and his life in Canada.
This is what I have about him. George Croucher Birth Place: Froyle Hants Engl Estimated Birth Year: abt 1854 Father Name: Samuel Croucher Mother Name: Sophia Croucher
I hope to have some time to go through your records more thoroughly. Thank you again for posting these.
