Blundens 1836
Blundens, in Upper Froyle, has to be the most researched property in the village. The late Theo Beck, who bought the house in 1981, was fascinated with its history and spent many years looking up documents dating back through many centuries. He produced a typewritten history, “Blundens, the History of a House”, which he donated to the Froyle Archive in 1999.
In the Summer of 2007 a local resident, David Snow, volunteered to scan and transcribe the 194 pages on behalf of the Archive. As a result of his sterling work we are now able to bring this amazing history to a wider audience. This section deals with the ‘House’ itself, his “Facets of Froyle” appear in Histories. The menu below will expand as the pages are added. The drawing above dates back to 1836 during the tenure of the Simpson family.
