Builder's Marks
“Crabtree Gate” was built in the 1950s incorporating materials reclaimed from various buildings in the village. Other houses built around the same period were “Semley House” and “Coxes Meadow”, built on the site of “Five Cottages” and using timber and bricks from the demolition.

The photograph above shows “Crabtree Gate” soon after it was built; since then it has been updated and enlarged. The present owner was told that the bungalow was built from some nearby farm outbuildings that were demolished. The brick is actually on the garage, but it would have come from the same source.
The initials, TATEV, do not immediately ring a bell - but we are investigating.
