| The present clock face is very new - it
was replaced a few years ago. The old one can be clearly seen in the
plan of 1722 (right) when the original tower and steeple were
demolished and replaced by the existing one - quite how it finished
up at Post Office Cottage (left) we do not know. |

also clearly visible in the coloured slide taken in 1888 by the Rev
A.E.Wright, but, by around 1900 it had been replaced by a round face. |
