Froyle House 1942
Over the years we have received several enquiries about Canadian troops based here during the war, and had to confess to virtually no knowledge whatsoever. These two photographs in Lady Smiley’s album do provide some small proof that they were based at Froyle House.

There were a a large number of Canadian troops in the area, accomodated in several large camps
to the South and East of Froyle. For more information click here to visit the story of Tweedsmuir Camp at Thursley.
