Froyle
has a thriving Gardening Club with over 70 members. Meetings are
held on the second Friday of each month during the winter at 7.30
p.m in Froyle Village Hall. At
most of our meetings there are plants available which have been produced
by the members. We also are able to obtain seeds from Dobies Seeds
at
a
very favourable rate. The
club also holds two shows a year: one in the Spring and the other in
the Autumn. As well as these shows the
club organises
the Flower Show held in conjunction with the Fête in July. (picture

In the summer the meetings are usually
visits to gardens, either locally or within easy travelling of Froyle.
The AGM is held
in December along
with a
talk, quiz or question time. This is always a popular event and well
attended. Every other year we have a flower arranging meeting where
the members
are treated to expert flower arranging demonstrations. The social event
of the year has to be the New Year party, held on the second Friday
in
January. Always good food, wine and a mind boggling quiz to keep everyone
happy.
Membership of the club is open to
anyone. They do not have to live in the village. We have members
from villages and
towns all round Froyle
who
regularly come and enjoy our friendly meetings. The fee is £5.00
for a family, £3.00 individual and £2.00 for the over 60's.
(Springfields Nursery at
nearby Oakhanger give a 10% discount to members)
