In December 1996 a Millennium Committee was formed to find projects in the village to commemorate the Millennium. A survey was sent out in early 1997 to all villagers and the results correllated and analysed. From nearly 150 suggestions the list was narrowed down to the following ideas.

Projects
  • The enlargement of the existing children’s playground. (now complete)
  • A Stained Glass Window in St. Mary’s Church. (now complete)
  • A Parish Map drawn and decorated by our local artists. (now complete)
  • A video of “1000 years of Froyle”. (launched June 1st 2000)
  • A book celebrating “100 years of Froyle”. (launched June 17th 2000)

The Froyle Gardening Club have produced a video record
of all aspects of gardens and gardening in Froyle.

Entertainments
  • During the summer of 2000 there was a week of festivities which included a cricket match between the village and Treloar School, an exhibition in the Village Hall, entitled “1000 Years of Froyle, 100 Years of Memories” and a children’s tea party in the Village Hall.
