On
Thursday October 7th 1999, the first Froyle Millennium project was
officially
unveiled by Ann Wetherall, the Millennium Committee Chairman, in Froyle
Village Hall. The Parish Map, shown above, is the work of fifteen
village
artists whose individual paintings were scanned and then composited
into the finished map by computer. The graphic on this page is a
much reduced
version of the original Photoshop file. There are three versions of
the map, this one in the Village Hall, a smaller one outside and
one in Upper
Froyle. The picture below shows the artists posing for the local press
in front of the map. |

On Friday, October 8th, the Upper Froyle copy of the Parish Map was unveiled by Haydon Spencely, a pupil at the Lord Mayor Treloar School. The picture below shows Haydon (left) with John Sweeting, Chief Executive of the Lord Mayor Treloar Trust, and Bea Sword, Chairman of the Parish Map Committee, after the unveiling. The legs belong to Dave Whitaker, the Froyle Parish Clerk! |
