Silver Jubilee logoAlthough many of us don’t actually recall the full details of the day, the photographs here show that it was a fun event. All most of us remember is that the weather was foul!
However, looking back through the Parish Council Minute Books we are reminded of how the day was spent!
“Mrs Morris (Parish Council Chairman) reported that the Village Celebrations would be held on the 7th June and were as follows:-
11.00am Races organised by The Prince of Wales Public House
2.45pm Football Club Event
5.00pm Children’s Tea
6.00pm Bonfire
8.30pm Village Dance (Admission £1.00)
Public Liability Insurance would be taken out at a cost of £2.50.

Froyle Football Club organised the afternoon event - again many familiar faces as
Jim Bellis handles the referee’s duties with ‘flare(s)’!

There was a bonfire on the Recreation Ground at 6.00pm and the day’s celebrations finished off with a dance in the Village Hall
