Froyle Village Halll
Following failure to achieve a grant from the Lottery in 2004, changes were made to the actual plan and the way in which it was intended to achieve it. Now known as Plan B, Planning Permission was granted by East Hants District Council at the end of 2004. At their meeting on July 14th 2005, Hampshire County Council agreed a grant of up to £10,000, subject to the application to East Hampshire District Council for a grant of £15,000 being successful. At East Hampshire’s North West Area Committee Meeting on July 26th the application was passed unanimously and was forwarded to the East Hampshire District Council’s Cabinet meeting in October for final approval. On Wednesday, October 26th, it was unanimously passed by the Cabinet and work began at the end of November 2005. For progress photographs see below.

The Kitchen ‘extension’, which joins the Kitchen to the existing Bar area, and the necessary external works (new entrance steps, railings, etc) became a separate project, and work started on April 4th 2005 and was completed in May of the same year.

The extension is to provide disabled toilet facilities and we also needed to make more space in the kitchen area. Here is a brief explanation of the plan (Mouse-over the plan for details):-
A. The new outer entrance hall - Inner hall is the existing entrance hall.
B. New Disabled Toilet.
C. Re-located Gents urinals.
D. Modesty panel in Gents.
E. Ladies toilets (unchanged).
F. Existing Kitchen area.
G. Wall removed to join kitchen and bar area (H) with Extension linking Kitchen and Bar. (This phase has now been completed - see below)
May 2005
May 2005 - The kitchen extension is complete apart from final decoration. The new railings can be seen in the picture above, new entrance steps have been built and a temporary surface has been laid outside the Hall in preparation for the Disabled Toilet extension - it was considered a waste of money to complete this fully when it would all be dug up again in, hopefully, a few months time for the final phase.

November 2005 - Work began on the second part of the Disabled Toilet Extension
