The Well Lane postcard
Well Lane 1912
Another historical record is that contained in postcards. The Archive is always fascinated in postcards, not only for the view it contains, but for what is written on the other side. At the turn of the century the postcard was the method of communication. The picture above is of Well Lane, which leads from Lower Froyle, starting opposite the “Prince of Wales”, to the small hamlet of Well, to the north of Froyle. We believe it was taken around 1912, but the card was posted in 1914.
